Inspector of Police arrested for defrauding US-based Medical director An Inspector of the Nigeria Police Force attached to X Squad Section Force, Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Lagos, Anthony Chukwu, has been arrested for defrauding a female Nigerian Medical Director in the United States of America, Miss Veronica Okwara. The Officer defrauded Miss Veronica of N9 million after he had a fake wedding with her. Veronica claimed that Chukwu converted the proceeds from the sale of vehicles and other imported items she asked him to sell on her behalf to his personal use. In her petition, Veronica narrated thus: “When I returned to Nigeria on vacation sometime in 2010, a member of my staff stole one of my trucks worth N3.8 million. I was introduced to Chukwu who was then attached to the Special Fraud Unit, SFU of the Nigeria Police in Ikoyi, Lagos to handle the case. AMAECHI is the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign he All Progressives Congress, APC, has named Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organization, which will drive the party's efforts to win the 2015 presidential election. In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the announcement followed the hugely successful convention at which its presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, was democratically elected, and the follow-up successful choice of his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. It said Gov. Amaechi's outstanding reputation as a man of courage, principle, strength of character, decency and love of country, as well as his administrative prowess and organizational skills combined to fetch him perhaps the most important task in the quest for positive change in Nigeria.

 Charly Boy's cousin, Emeka Aseme, a business tycoon and a hotelier was forcefully taken away by gun wielding men during one of his visits to his 5-Star hotel in Oguta, Imo state on 24th February. Aseme's family managed to contact the abductors who demanded N8m ransom, which the family paid but Emeka was not released to them. On the 9th of March, the men who took the hotelier contacted his younger brother and directed him to go to a community between Owerri and Oguta called Okwonji, to find him brother. The Jigawa state multi million Naira Hadejia Sugar Factory will commence full operations in 2015 and it will employ about 3,256  indigenes of Hadejia emirate. The company’s Director of Engineers, Malam Umar Sanda stated this while conducting newsmen round the  sugar factory premises, said the decision of the family to take over the company was aimed at providing employment opportunity to the teeming indigenes of Hadejia emirate and Jigawa state in general. He however stated that the family of the Late Abacha  will purchase of new equipments to enable them commence operation soonest, adding that the management of Hadejia River Bsin Development Authority has also  pledged to provide 4,000 hectares of land for the production of sugarcane that will be used in for the production of sugar.
