Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Dino Melaye has urged the National Chairman of his party, the APC, Chief Odigie Oyegun, to ask President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal government to reverse the recently announced increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, otherwise known as petrol. Simple, Putin would win. No one here mentioned that he is an 8th dan in judo. What does 8th dan mean? Belt colors in judo are slightly different depending on which country you're in but the dan ranking system should be international. Dan means stage or step. I'll be specifically writing about dan awarded by Kodokan. When you reach first dan that means you're no longer a junior and that you've mastered all the basics and are a decent judoka. When you reach third dan, you are qualified to teach judo. As you progress up the dan ladder, you are gain seniority and experience. 10th dan is the highest possible level. (Theoretically there are no limits but no one has ever gotten past 10th dan) That has only been awarded a handful of time since judo's inception. At the moment, there are only three living men who have attained 10th dan. All of them were born in the 1920s so they're all pretty old.
The Federal Government will soon put a stop to importation of food items because Nigeria has the capacity to attain self-sufficiency in food production . The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who dropped this hint on Friday said that President Muhammadu Buhari was desirous of stopping all forms of food importation into the country. Inspector of Police arrested for defrauding US-based Medical director An Inspector of the Nigeria Police Force attached to X Squad Section Force, Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Lagos, Anthony Chukwu, has been arrested for defrauding a female Nigerian Medical Director in the United States of America, Miss Veronica Okwara. The Officer defrauded Miss Veronica of N9 million after he had a fake wedding with her. Veronica claimed that Chukwu converted the proceeds from the sale of vehicles and other imported items she asked him to sell on her behalf to his personal use. In her petition, Veronica narrated thus: “When I returned to Nigeria on vacation sometime in 2010, a member of my staff stole one of my trucks worth N3.8 million. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organization, which will drive the party's efforts to win the 2015 presidential election. In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the announcement followed the hugely successful convention at which its presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, was democratically elected, and the follow-up successful choice of his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. It said Gov. Charly Boy's cousin, Emeka Aseme, a business tycoon and a hotelier was forcefully taken away by gun wielding men during one of his visits to his 5-Star hotel in Oguta, Imo state on 24th February. Aseme's family managed to contact the abductors who demanded N8m ransom, which the family paid but Emeka was not released to them. On the 9th of March, the men who took the hotelier contacted his younger brother and directed him to go to a community between Owerri and Oguta called Okwonji, to find him brother. The Jigawa state multi million Naira Hadejia Sugar Factory will commence full operations in 2015 and it will employ about 3,256 indigenes of Hadejia emirate. The company’s Director of Engineers, Malam Umar Sanda stated this while conducting newsmen round the sugar factory premises, said the decision of the family to take over the company was aimed at providing employment opportunity to the teeming indigenes of Hadejia emirate and Jigawa state in general. He however stated that the family of the Late Abacha will purchase of new equipments to enable them commence operation soonest, adding that the management of Hadejia River Bsin Development Authority has also pledged to provide 4,000 hectares of land for the production of sugarcane that will be used in for the production of sugar.
